The Federal Government has announced plans to investigate the withdrawal of military personnel from Maga, Kebbi State shortly before the abduction of students of Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School.
Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, disclosed this during a visit to Kebbi State Governor, Umar Idris, following the governor’s demand for an explanation over the incident.
Matawalle revealed that the soldiers involved have been summoned, adding that anyone found culpable will face sanctions in line with military laws.
He further stated that intelligence reports indicate significant progress in ongoing efforts to rescue the abducted students.
