The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has said that in order to attain food security and full participation in the blue economy, the Buhari administration will continue to train and empower ex agitators of the Niger Delta who are beneficiaries of the scheme.
Col. Dixon Dikio (retd), Interim Administrator of the Programme disclosed this in a chat with journalists over the weekend.
Dikio, who urged members of the public to respect priorities of the programme, said the scheme is committed to achieving its aims and objectives
The Amnesty Programme was initiated in June 2009, as a short-term mechanism for de-escalating militant insurgency that destabilised the oil-rich Niger Delta region.
It was introduced during the administration of former President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
