The Federal Government has announced plans to disburse fresh cash transfers to 2.2 million households across the country before the end of August 2025.
Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Tanko Sununu, disclosed this in an interview with Channels Television on Monday.
He said the intervention is part of the government’s rapid conditional cash transfer programme for vulnerable Nigerians, which has already consumed about ₦419 billion.
According to Sununu, 71 percent of the funds have so far been distributed in the northern region, while 21 percent has gone to beneficiaries in the south.
“In the next few days, before the end of August, we are going to reach out to 2.2 million households,” the minister stated.
