The Federal Government has emphasized the necessity of ending the importation of photovoltaic solar panels into Nigeria, noting that this has already cost N200 billion.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency, Abba Aliyu, made this statement on Monday at a roundtable discussion held in Victoria Island between the REA and the Lagos State Government.
The REA and the Lagos State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding to electrify rural communities in Lagos.
Aliyu stated that efforts are underway to transform the narrative and promote the domestic manufacturing of renewable equipment in the country.
