The Federal Government has directed the immediate closure of 47 Federal Unity Colleges nationwide following escalating security concerns.
The directive, issued in a circular on Friday, cited “heightened security risks in several regions” and stressed the urgency of protecting students and staff.
The memo noted that the decision was approved by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, and was signed on his behalf by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Binta Abdulkadir.
The government has yet to announce when the schools will reopen.
