The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that by 2021, only those with first and second class upper qualifications would be employed as teachers.
Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono made this known on Saturday in Abuja, while monitoring the 2020 Teachers Professional Qualifying Examination.
He said the entry point of teaching is now being limited to only those with the requisite qualifications as only such persons would be engaged.
Echono equally stated that those without the necessary qualification and practicing licence are currently exiting the teaching profession.
