The Federal Government has declared Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026, as public holidays to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In a statement, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, said the declaration was made on behalf of the Federal Government by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The Minister congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urged them to uphold the values of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice.
He also called on all Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and continued national progress.
Tunji-Ojo further encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend acts of kindness to the less privileged during the festivities.
