In a bid to ease the transportation burden on Nigerians during the yuletide, President Bola Tinubu has apprvoved a fifty percent reduction of the current transport fare on luxurious buses for interstate travels across Nigeria.
Similarly, Nigerians will enjoy a hundred percent rebate or zero fare for journeys on trains.
Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Presidential Intervention, Dele Alake, who announced this today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said the special presidential intervention commences from 21st December, 2023 to 4th January, 2024.
He added that 22 routes will be covered under the initiative, in partnership with luxury bus unions.
The Minister while announcing that measures have been taken to eliminate any encumbrances, said the various security agencies have been directed to provide watertight security across the country.
