Senior Advocate of Nigeria and Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana has denied reports making the rounds that he received N28 million from suspended embattled Acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu who is currently being investigated for fraud.
There are reports by a media outfit that the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), confirmed from the Presidential Investigation Committee on the EFCC Federal Government Recovered Assets and Finances that one Falana received the sum of N28 million from Magu.
Falana in a statement signed by his lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika stated that the report was “damning against his entire career as a lawyer.” He demanded a retraction of the claim by the media outfit and tender an unreserved apology within 48hrs or face a lawsuit for defamation.
The suspended EFCC Chairman Magu, is currently being investigated for alleged re-looting of funds, bribery among other allegations of corruption.
