The presidency has reacted to criticisms by Nigerians over President Buhari’s failure to speak on the Lekki toll gate shooting by soldiers during his address to the nation few days ago.
Presidential Spokesperson, Femi Adesina said it will be out of place for the president to talk about the shootings since it was being investigated.
Adesina who made this known during a TV interview yesterday, equally noted that it would have been premature and presumptuous” if the president had commented on it, since the defence headquarters and the Lagos state government had started investigating the matter.
“the President couldn’t have said anything because it would be premature and presumptuous while investigation is ongoing. It is after investigation has been concluded that he can speak on the matter.”
He furthermore called on youths to give peace a chance and allow the government work to implement their demands which includes Police reform.
