The Federal Executive Council has approved a new Exit Benefit Scheme that will grant retiring Federal Civil Servants a gratuity equivalent to 100 per cent of their total annual earnings.
The scheme, which takes effect from January 1, 2026, is expected to significantly improve the welfare of civil servants and ensure that those who have served the country for at least 10 years retire with financial stability and dignity.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Director of Public Relations in the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Eno Olotu.
According to the statement, the approval followed detailed deliberations and technical recommendations from an Inter-Ministerial Technical Committee set up by the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
