The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has criticised former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his participation in a recent protest against the Electoral Act Amendment.
Wike, reacting to the demonstration, mocked Amaechi’s claim that he attended the protest with his son, whom he described as a medical doctor, to assist in case any participant needed medical attention.
According to Wike, the explanation lacked credibility because there was no visible medical equipment or ambulance support at the protest venue.
He queried why Rotimi Amaechi and others who were in power failed to implement electronic transmission of results, but are now championing it simply because they are out of office.
The exchange marks the latest round of verbal exchanges between the two political figures amid ongoing debates surrounding the proposed changes to the Electoral Act.
