ABUJA – The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, on Monday, March 24, 2025, distributed food items to underprivileged members of the Muslim community across the six Area Councils of the FCT.
The initiative, aimed at supporting indigent residents during the Ramadan fasting period, aligns with the FCT Administration’s tradition of providing welfare assistance, particularly during religious festivities.
Speaking at the symbolic distribution ceremony in Gwagwalada Area Council, the Minister’s Chief of Staff, Hon. Chidi Amadi, who represented him at the event, underscored the importance of Ramadan as a time of fasting, prayer, and charity.
He stated that the FCT Administration allocated over 10,000 bags of rice for distribution to mosques and welfare associations, urging recipients to ensure the items reach those most in need. The move, he added, reflects the administration’s commitment to fostering solidarity with the Muslim faithful during the holy month.
