Port Harcourt based journalist, Anita Joseph Ogona was yesterday, assaulted by a mobile Police officer while tring to cover court proceedings of detained Federal lawmaker, Hon. Farah Dagogo.
The veteran journalist made this known in a statement on Facebook, Today.
“I was brutalized today in court by policemen who brought Farah to court, when I say police is not anyone’s friend, take it from a sincere journalist,” she said.
One of her colleagues, Allwell Ene also confirmed that, Ogona was pushed with the butt of a rifle, and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
“Anita Josephine Ogona a Port Harcourt based journalist still receiving treatment from an assault on her by a police officer at the court premises yesterday,” he said.
“She was pushed with the butt of his rifle,” Allwell added.
