The family of a teenage girl who accused a Paramount ruler in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Rivers State, of defiling their daughter has raised an alarm over threats to their lives.
The family had few weeks ago accused the traditional ruler of defiling their 16 year-old daughter in his house.
However, the family in a statement says it is no longer interested in the case for their safety. They noted that since they went public with the case, series of threat messages have been sent to them.
A Human Rights Activist, Prince Wiro disclosed these in a chat with journalists on Tuesday.
He said the family has directed the organization not to go ahead with the case anymore.
