The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that it would deploy robots in airports across the country. This is to enable effective management of passengers in the wake of Covid-19.
General Manager Corporate Affairs FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu who disclosed this to journalists said the robots would be used for profiling, check-ins, temperature checks as well as detection of security threats including dangerous goods and arms.
Henrietta equally revealed that the test run of the robots was done at the Lagos Airport today.
Meanwhile, airports in part of the country are expected to reopen soon for domestic operations, according to FAAN. The airspace was shutdown few months ago as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
