The newly elected Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Ichemati Ezebunwo has sworn-in Deputy Mayor and councillors of the council.
Ezebunwo made this known in a statement on Monday.
According to him, he also took an assessment tour of the council facility that has been under lock and key, and ordered the commencement of an immediate process of revitalizing it to be ready for governance.
The statement read,
Today I resumed office at the Port Harcourt City Council Secretariat.
As part of my first responsibilities, I saw to the swearing of the Deputy Mayor, elected councilors and further proclaimed the resumption of the 8th parliament of the Port Harcourt City Local Government.
I also took an assessment tour of the council facility that has been under lock and key for the past three months and ordered the commencement of an immediate process of revitalizing the council secretariat and making it ready for the business of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
As I had stated during the campaigns, we are #HereToServe and no amount of distraction will affect our strong desire and determination to deliver.
This is time for Governance and we are ready to hit the ground running.
However, because we are well aware that some charlatans and enemies of democracy are poised on becoming agents of darkness, we are well prepared to contain and chase them to their private hideouts.
God Bless the good people of PHALGA
Good Bless Rivers State.
