The Rumueme Kingdom in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has installed HRM Eze Dr. Larry Azunda Nsirim as its new Nyenwe-Eli and Paramount Ruler, marking the beginning of a new era in the community’s traditional leadership.
The installation was sealed with the traditional “capping” ceremony held on Monday, January 19, 2026, in line with the customs and traditions of the kingdom. The event was witnessed by chiefs, elders, and indigenes of Rumueme, who gathered to formally welcome the new monarch.
Eze Dr. Nsirim’s ascension comes shortly after the completion of burial rites for the late king, HRM Ndamzi Nsirim (JP), whose reign contributed to the stability and cultural preservation of the kingdom.
Community stakeholders expressed hope that the new monarch’s leadership would promote unity, peace, and development, while upholding the rich cultural heritage of the Rumueme Kingdom.
