Former Special Adviser to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, Opunabo Inko-Tariah has described the Executive Order 21 and 22 by the State Government as “draconian and tyrannical.”
Opunabo said this while reacting to threats by the state government against groups planning to embark on a protest over the order.
According to him, citizens have the right to protest over such issues but, must write to security agencies and avoid a breakdown of law and order during the protest.
He stated that the executive order is a ploy to stop opposition parties in the state from carrying out political activities before next year’s election.
He also said people cannot be silent when their rights are being trampled upon.
