Ex-Super Eagles International Christian Obodo who was kidnapped in Warri, Delta State has recounted his ordeal in the hands of his abductors.
Obodo in a chat with journalists after his release said he was locked up in a trunk for hours while his abductors withdrew money from his account with his ATM card.
He equally noted that the guys were angry and explained to him that they had placed a bet on the Super Eagles to score in the second half of their AFCON qualifier against Sierra Leone. Unfortunately, the Super Eagles failed to score in the second half of the eight goals cracker.
“The kidnappers were even telling me about how they lost money for placing bets on Nigeria to score in the second half,” he said.
“They didn’t hurt me or intimidate me but I can’t understand the reason for anyone to want to put me through this sort of thing over again,” he added.
