Former Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Ibok-Ete Ibas, has faulted the resolution of the State House of Assembly to probe him, describing the move as a “fool’s errand.”
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Adviser on Media, Hector Igbikiowubo, Ibas said the legislature lacked the authority to investigate him, stressing that his appointment was the prerogative of the President and duly ratified by the National Assembly.
He argued that any attempt by the state lawmakers to subject him to probe would amount to questioning the competence of the Presidency and the National Assembly, which conferred legitimacy on his appointment.
As you may know the State Assembly upon resumption of plenary resolved to probe the administration of the former sole administrator.
