The Rivers State Government, has assured pensioners in the state that their gratuities will be paid.
Head of Civil Service in the State, Rufus Godwin gave the assurance during a radio interview, today in Port Harcourt.
He said once the resources of the state improves, the government which has been attending to the needs of Rivers people, will pay pensioners their gratuities.
Rufus Godwin who blamed the global economic turndown for the inability of the government to pay, said even the U.S. and Canada are owing gratuities.
He also said the government is simply systemizing pension payment in the state so it can be predictable.
