The councilor representing Ward 17 in Ndashi, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State, Tony Nwalem, has given out bursary and writing materials to some students in tertiary institutions in the area.
The councilor while giving out the materials yesterday in his ward, said the gesture is part of his education and empowerment drive.
He also stated that the initiative is aimed at enhancing capacity of the students as well as improving the well-being of his people, in the area of education.
The councillor who promised to sustain the programme said it will cut across the eight communities in Ndashi.
He urged the recipients to take their studies seriously as it is the key to greater heights.
The students and stakeholders in their remarks commended the councillor for the kind gesture while promising not to disappoint him.
