The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Dr. Obinna Anyanwu, DSSRS, Monday, presented to the Legislative Assembly, the 2024 budget estimates of Five Billion, Nine Hundred and Thirty-Four Million, Two Hundred and Eleven Thousand, One Hundred and Sixty-Eight Naira, Fifty Kobo (N5,934,211, 168.50) for consideration and approval.
Chief Press Secretary of the council, Robinson Oluor disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
He said, in the estimated budget, capital expenditure took One Billion, Eight Hundred and Forty-Two Million, Five Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Eight Hundred and Twenty-One Naira, Eleven Kobo (N1,842,513,821.11).
Recurrent expenditure took Four Billion, and Thirty-Two Million, Three Hundred and Fifty-Five Thousand, Two Hundred arid Thirty-Four Naira, Seventy Kobo (N4,032,355,234.70), while reverse funds is Fifty-Nine Million, Three Hundred and Forty-Two Thousand, One Hundred and Eleven Naira, Sixty-Nine Kobo (N59,342, 111.69).
Presenting the budget proposal, Dr. Anyanwu disclosed that the N5.9bn proposed for 2024 is aimed to have profound impact on the lives of the people and the future development of the area.
According to him, the budget will consolidate the achievements recorded by his administration.
The Council Chairman prayed for speedy passage of the budget by the house.
In her remarks, Leader of Etche Legislative Assembly, Rt Hon. Cynthia Nwala, assured that the budget would be speedily and properly scrutinized for the interest and benefit of the people.
