The Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Hon. Chima Boniface Njoku, has completed the second phase of the land empowerment project for members of the Etche Legislative Assembly.
The initiative, designed to support all 19 councillors representing the 19 wards of Etche LGA, reached full implementation with the latest distribution. The first phase saw the allocation of 12 plots of land shared between Constituency 1 and Constituency 2, while the second phase captured the remaining seven councillors, ensuring every legislator benefited from the programme.
Leader of the Etche 10th Legislative Assembly and Councillor representing Akwa/Odagwa Ward 15, Hon. Marshall Ogechi Nwankwo, commended Hon. Njoku for fulfilling his promise. He described the gesture as a demonstration of genuine commitment to the welfare and motivation of the legislative arm, noting that it strengthens cooperation between the council’s executive and legislative branches.
Nwankwo added that the empowerment would further inspire councillors to deliver better representation in their respective wards, reaffirming the Assembly’s readiness to continue partnering with the council chairman for the development of Etche.
Beyond the land empowerment scheme, Hon. Njoku has also initiated various projects aimed at improving governance and community wellbeing, including enhanced electricity supply, infrastructure improvements, and increased support for grassroots development efforts.
With the completion of the land allocation programme, Hon. Njoku continues to position his administration as one focused on responsive and people-centered leadership in Etche Local Government Area.
