TEXT: JOHN 6:1-15
MEMORY VERSE: “And this he said to prove him; for he himself knew what he would do” (John 6:6 KJV).
Jesus always knew what He would do, and He still does; even forever. Knowledge is very important. But His knowledge is a peculiar one – one that was rooted in the Father and the Holy Spirit.
When we immerse ourselves in the Holy Spirit, grace and deep knowledge would be imparted to us. From His baptism to His triumphant resurrection, He was filled with the Holy Spirit; and we are urged to be like Him (Rom. 8:29) – be filled with the Holy Spirit: “Don’t be drunk [filled] with wine [or anything that is ungodly or makes one abnormal in mind or behaviour], because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit” (Eph. 5:18 NLT).
The Holy Spirit is Omniscient, and He is the Spirit of Christ (Rom. 8:9; 1 Pet. 1:11). When He dwells in us, we would have in us the presence of the fullness of Christ. We would have knowledge of how to live a godly life and please God. We would have knowledge how to conduct our businesses and achieve good success; we would excel in our careers; we would always do well in our education; and in every other thing concerning us, we would always be successful and triumphant. The presence of Christ gives great knowledge and wisdom, and helps one to know how to go about things in life. We would always know what we would do under any circumstance.
All we need to do is to be rooted in God, in Christ, and in the Holy Spirit. Let us make it our lifetime vocation; for it is worthwhile.
- Obey the command: “Be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
- Lord Jesus, fill me with the Holy Spirit that I may be like you.
