TEXT: JOHN 19:17-24
MEMORY VERSE: “And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha.”John 19:17 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
The work that Jesus did on the cross is not common; it is beyond what the human (physical) eye can comprehend. Before you can understand this work of salvation and become focus on the cross, you must understand what the cross signifies, through spiritual foresight.
Many are scared of what their life might become because they haven’t really known the Lord, despite the fact that they have received Christ. You’re still scared of what your life might become simply because you don’t understand the cross. The cross is a revealed supernatural vessel that takes away your suffering, death, failure, setbacks, and so on; hence, you gain Salvation – freedom (Col. 2:14-15).
You must understand that this cross has taken away your shame, the devil’s accusations, and you are now an overcomer. The Bible states that we overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the Words of our testimony (Rev. 12:11). This was possible because there was a CROSS; without the cross, there would be no blood shedding for our sake.
- Be focused. Do not fear what your life might become. Jesus has set you free.
- All you need is to accept Him genuinely because He has been given to you freely. You should receive truly receive Him (John 3:16); and by this, you have eternal life forever.
- Lord, help to be conscious of your work of salvation for me, always.
