TEXT: 1 KINGS 20:1-21
MEMORY VERSE:
“And, behold, there came a prophet unto Ahab King of Israel, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou seen all this great multitude? Behold, I will deliver it into thine hand, this day; and thou shall know that I am the LORD.”
1 Kings 20:13 KJV
King Ahab faced a worrisome moment of war. The word of God came to him through a prophet. It gave him confidence and assurance of victory.
God’s word does specific things in the life of people who accept it, imbibe it, and believe it. It transforms life in many dimensions and enhances positive change. The psalmist described it as a lamp that guided his feet and a light that showed the right way, as he lived through the darkness of this world (Ps. 119:105).
It gives divine guidance and reveals divine strategy for success. People who follow and live by it do not make mistakes or experience failure, for it reveals God’s will, which is infallible.
It is an instrument for spiritual, psychological, mental, social, and societal revival and regeneration. People who use it experience a turnaround of situations from the negative to the positive. It helps to realign the mind for meaningful living and existence.
The scripture says it all: “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to dividing asunder of souls and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12 KJV). There is nothing it cannot do for us. Let us crave for it, for it would do us much good.
- Make God’s word a priority in your life and reap its benefits,
- Lord, help me to understand and apply your word in my life.
