TEXT: ZECHARIAH 8: 9-23
MEMORY VERSE: “So will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing.” (Zechariah 8:13b KJV).
The blessing God gives us are intended to be shared with all, beginning with the inestimable blessing of salvation from sin and including all the other good things the Lord has given to us.
As a Christian, whatever your circumstances may be, you’ve been given the greatest gifts: faith, hope, and love. And you have been blessed with the means of grace and the hope of glory. If you have Christ, you have been given everything that is eternally worthwhile.
In our text, God tells the children of Israel the conditions for which they shall enjoy His blessings. They include:
- Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour (verse 16).
- Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates (verse 16).
- Let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour (verse 17).
- Love no false oath (verse 17).
Some of the blessings that we will enjoy if we heed to God’s instructions as mentioned in our text include:
- The seed shall be prosperous.
- The vine shall give her fruit.
- The ground shall giver increase, and the heavens shall give their dew.
- God will cause His people to possess all these things.
- God will save you.
The primary reason why God chooses to bless His children is so that they will be able to build the church or body of Christ without fear (Zechariah 8: 9). Some of the people in the Bible who enjoyed God’s blessings include Abraham, Isaac, David, etc.
Seek God with all your heart and with all humility, choose to obey His instructions, and you shall be a partaker of His blessings.
- Do you have what it takes to enjoy God’s blessings?
- Father, renew my heart and grant me the willpower to live for you, in Jesus name.
