MEMORY VERSE: “He who is faithful in little things is also faithful in much …” Luke 16:10
TEXT: LUKE 9:37-43 (KJV)
37 And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
38 And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
39 And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.
40 And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.
41 And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.
42 And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
43 And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

Jesus all through this ministry demonstrated the Power of faith and so presumed that this disciple should have no difficulties in casting all doubts in the efficacy of prayer for all situations, especially for the healing of afflicted people. Healing is a manifestation of total believe in the power of God through his only begotten son Jesus Christ. In his ministry of reconciliation, redemption, salvation, he turned water into wine, healed the sick, raised the dead. Lazarus was the least of them, He fed 5 thousand men, woman must be about 10 thousand and children may be about 15 thousand. Approximately about 30,000 thousand people with 2 fishes and 5 loaves of barley bread. These were ample opportunities for the disciples to build up their faith. Disappointingly, they could not master the spiritual authority and the underline power of the living God.
Christ was trying to teach them how to take from the abundance of the supernatural to the physical word. This power which was effective demonstrated by his only begotten son Jesus Christ.
It is important to note that our lord Jesus Christ studied the father God almighty so well that he spoke his words, acted like him and so became a perfect replica of the father in all things. However, the story changed when Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where he is seated at the right hand of God the father. From there he released the Holy Ghost, representing the spirit of the father and the son from where it proceeded. Functionally; the Holy Spirit empowered the disciples to do all that Jesus Christ did and propagate the gospel to the world as enjoyed today by Christians of denominations.
In the same vein, Christians are expected to key into the Holy Ghost movement to the amazement of the world today. As a result, we are expected to learn the Holy principles adopted and demonstrated by Jesus Christ; utilize the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the kingdom of darkness to the upliftment of God’s kingdom. The secret is to believe in faith that with God, nothing is impossible.
These are achievable through the avoidance of the perverse way of life; such as idolatry, adultery, fornication, drunkenness, witchcraft, hatred, heresies, seditions, uncleanness, lasciviousness, cultism or secret pact with the devil and all those things that does not glorify God. The truth being that God will grant the desire of those live in the righteousness of Christ.
In conclusion, God desires that our faithfulness should exceed that of the Pharisees, Sadducees and Hypocrites in the things of God. We must dig deeper into the word of God to harvest the innermost supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to demonstrate the power and exercise His authority always.
- You must be faithful in all things.
- Pray that the Spirit of faithfulness should reside in you to bring God’s word to manifest.
