MEMORY VERSE: “There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.”Isaiah 65:20
TEXT: ISAIAH 65:17-25
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing,
And her people a joy.
19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem,
And joy in My people;
The voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her,
Nor the voice of crying.
20 “No more shall an infant from there live but a few days,
Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days;
For the child shall die one hundred years old,
But the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 They shall build houses and inhabit them;
They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They shall not build and another inhabit;
They shall not plant and another eat;
For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people,
And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labor in vain,
Nor bring forth children for trouble;
For they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord,
And their offspring with them.
24 “It shall come to pass
That before they call, I will answer;
And while they are still speaking, I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,”
Says the Lord.

The passage expresses the blessings of redemption in this life and that to come. Life is the promise of Father, God to as many that will turn to Him in repentance through belief in the death of Christ Jesus His Son. This is expressed in John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God”.
This promise of life by the Father is only to those who repent and believe in the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. According to the word of God, long life is part of this promise (Isaiah 65:20; check Psalm 91:16 too). However, it is not for those who are living in sin. A sinner who lives long without intending to repent is accursed. That means he just wasted golden opportunities to gain the real life, which is eternal life in Christ Jesus. Also, what use will it be to live long in sin on earth and end up in hell fire? That is a curse!
Beloved, if you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, that means you are not born again. Then, this is the time to settle it. There is no use having miracles, breakthroughs, riches and good life here on earth without the assurance of heaven and good life in eternity.
Gloriously, the life in Christ Jesus, which is full of godliness has good life here on earth and good life in eternity too, 1 Timothy 4:8 says, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”
Beloved, be not accursed, turn to Jesus Christ today and be a partaker of the good life that is available and assured in Him!
- Are you saved? Have you believed in Christ Jesus and His work on the cross for salvation?
- Father, I receive your forgiveness for my sin; thank you for your Son Jesus Christ who died for my sin on the cross. I believe and receive Him into my heart that I may have eternal life.
