TEXT: 1 CORINTHAINS 13:1-13
MEMORY VERSE: “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Love is perfect, and God is love. No mortal being has the capacity to explain everything about God’s love or its extent or depth for us. John 3:16 says, “For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
We owe God and ourselves the obligation to love other people with the same kind of love that Christ loves us. When we do so, we make God exceedingly happy with us because His basic will for us in our relationship with one another is to love one another with the extent of love He has for us. Paul wrote to the Philippian Christians and said, “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose” (Phil. 2:2).
Love is a precious seed we must sow in the lives of people, and everywhere we go if we must be God’s children truly, and if actually we desire to enter the Kingdom of God. It is a great treasure never to be neglected or despised. One who has it carries Christ in himself; for like the Father, Christ is love.
Therefore, we should cultivate love in our hearts, that we may be like Christ. Love is pleasant, and has its good rewards. Do good to others; care for them; feel their joy and sorrow; wish them well at all times; have compassion in your heart; and as much as you can, be passionate about making everybody around you comfortable and happy. Love is actually the spice of life. Those who possess it carry in them a great divine treasure; and it is God’s gold mine. We would become God’s gold mine if we have it in us.
- Practise God’s love every day of your life.
- Lord, reveal to me how to practise your kind of love.
