TEXT: DANIEL 3:19-END
MEMORY VERSE: “Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.” Daniel 3:28 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
The sudden appearance of light in a dark room quickly brings illumination and causes the darkness to fade. The once fierce burning Nebuchadnezzar’s face was lighted at the sight of the fourth man in the fire, his countenance changed and his intentions also changed. The man that was raining woes, and curses now turned to be pronouncing blessings and the people he hated turned out to be his close associates.
There’s always a cause! For the cause of Nebuchadnezzar’s salvation and that of his people, God permitted these boys to be thrown into fire. Every life challenge, struggle or tough time is always to the glory of God if we endure by faith. 1 Peter 1:7 says, “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.”
In times of trial and temptation, let us encourage ourselves in the Lord and stand firm like Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. When affliction overwhelms our soul, let us remain faithful to the end, knowing that the sufficient grace of God abounds towards us.
- The test of faith of those brethren in our text brought them honor and brought glory to God. Will your unfavourable situation bring praise and glory to God, also?
- Lord, remember me for your assurance in time of need, in Jesus name.
