TEXT: DANIEL 3:19-30
MEMORY VERSE: “Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counselors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?… He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the son of God” (Daniel 3:24-25)
Today’s lesson is a very interesting one. We learn one of the many benefits of being true to our God. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were honest with God in all their dealings. They lived a holy lifestyle. They believed in and worshipped God in spirit and in truth, even at the risk to their life. For them, there was only one true God, the God of Israel, and there was no other. They were willing to be on the side of that only true God, no matter what the situation might be. They did not care for their life, even if the king was going to kill them (Dan. 3:16-18 NIV).
When we live a holy lifestyle, which is the life of Christ, God’s protection and favour would abound towards us; and He would bestow upon us His mercies, kindness and grace. During unfavourable situations, He would intervene suddenly.
In the struggles of life, we have our sustenance and protection in God if we maintain our relationship with Him. He promised never to leave or forsake us (Josh. 1:15). When we pass through all kinds of difficulties, trials, and temptation, He would be with us. (Isa. 43:2-3).
In everyday life, God challenges us to live a holy lifestyle and we would experience His beneficence, love, kindness, goodness, blessings, and peaceful life. Would you be one of such people? There is no better fraternity one should join than the one of the saints who worship and glorify God in their life. Let us not forsake such assembly, the assembly of the saints.
- Do not do the things that would make God turn His back and distance Himself from you.
- Lord Jesus, please help me to groom my heart to love you more and more.
