TEXT: DANIEL 2:13-24
MEMORY VERSE: “Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the Captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon” (Daniel 2:14).
Leaders in any area of life should not act like Nebuchadnezzar who wanted the wise men of Babylon killed for not being able to tell and interpret his dream.
However, Daniel came to the rescue. He saved the lives of the wise men. He was able to do this because he had a right standing with God. If we moderate our life to be like Daniel, we would be able to stand in the gap for others and intercede for them. Like Christ our Lord, we would become soldiers of the cross and deliver people from the power, bondage, and dominion of sin and the kingdom of darkness.
Daniel made an enquiry with a sense of purpose and respect (Dan. 2:15); and brought the needed solution (Dan. 2:16). His relationship with God made it possible for him to solve the problem, just like Joseph did in Egypt (Gen. 41:1-57). The wise men of Babylon would have lost their lives.
He consulted his godly companions and they sought God’s intervention together (Dan. 2:17): Daniel associated himself with godly friends – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. They sought for God’s mercy and help, and they got it. We should always associate ourselves with godly people only. There is much to gain in time of need; for they would make up the required number that would facilitate speedy answers to your prayers: “For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them. (Matt. 18:20 AMP).
- Have fellowship with godly people only, and do not corrupt yourself.
- Pray the Holy Spirit to have continual fellowship with you.
