TEXT: Hebrews 10: 1-15 KJV
MEMORY VERSE: “For by one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.” Hebrews 10: 14 KJV
It has been established that there is no remission of sin without the shedding of blood. This text comes as a reminder that the law, which states that sins could only be remitted through sacrifice, was a shadow of what was to take place when Christ came. These sacrifices were not able to make men perfect really, because both the High Priest and the animals being offered were not without sin. The only way sin can be purged once and for all is for a man without sin to be offered as the sacrifice for sin. Jesus Christ came into the world and took up the flesh and lived a perfect life on earth and in the end, offered Himself up as a sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, we are sanctified for the last time (Hebrews 10:10, 13-14).
Jesus Christ was able to accomplish the will of the Father (Heb. 10:7, 9) and eliminated the yearly sacrifices of the High Priest, which was a shadow of the good thing that has come (Heb. 10:1–2, 4, 11).
Today, Christians are made perfect by the blood of Jesus Christ, which sanctifies them by their faith in Him. Therefore, they are justified and now have peace with God and access by faith in His grace (Rom. 5:1–2). Christians can now rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
