TEXT: AMOS 3:1-8
MEMORY VERSE: “Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but revealeth his secret unto his servant the Prophets.” Amos 3:7 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
At a time when the quest for mastery and mastership is on the increase, it becomes imperative that we unravel the blessings associated with servant-hood and service. This is necessary as we appear to be raising a generation of people who know nothing about service and are very careless and care free on the subject matter. We see in most people the longing to get to the top without devoting their time to service at any level. It must be said that there has never been anyone who gave himself or herself to service that was not rewarded with great blessings. Amidst the various blessings accruable to the servant is the blessing of Revelation.
Hear this, every serving servant have access to the secrets of the master. Our text is clear on this major blessing. The secrets of God resides with them fear Him – His servants. Let it be known that when you make up your mind to serve God, you are guaranteed of His Revelation Knowledge. Heaven opens herself to you. In fact, you practically exist under open heaven.
Joshua the son of Nun exemplified service to Moses and he enjoyed the Revelation blessings that landed him on the platform of leadership (Joshua 1:1-2). Another classical example is Elisha who literally abandoned his high paying business to serve Elijah. That singular service opened his eyes, not only to know that Elijah was to be taken away, but he saw the chariots of fire that eventually carried Elijah to heaven. No wonder he became a major voice his generation could reckon with.
Beloved, when you dedicate yourself to serving both God and man, then be assured of accessing the secrets of generational impact. Many of our fathers today are renowned by
- Don’t be ashamed to serve, never feel too proud to serve. It pays to serve.
- Father, thank you for the privilege of service, grant us the grace to serve you as true servants, as you reveal your secrets to us, in Jesus Name. Amen.
