TEXT: ISAIAH 25:1-9
MEMORY VERSE: “And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces …” (Isaiah 25:7-8).
‘Be joyful for He is the Lord, on earth and in heaven supreme, He fashions and rules by His word, The ‘Mighty’ and ‘Strong’ to redeem’ ‘Rejoice! Rejoice, be glad in the Lord and rejoice.’ Those are the lyrics of stanza 2 and chorus of Cherubim and Seraphim Hymn 224. Taking it a little further, the chorus of C & S Hymn 226 has this ‘Ah! Rejoice, rejoice; Rejoice, rejoice, Band of Seraph, Ah! Rejoice, rejoice; Rejoice, rejoice, Band of Cherub.’
No matter the state of pain or sorrow one finds oneself, the entrance of the word of God does not only bring light and understanding, it equally ignites joy and peace beyond measure, particularly when we tune our heart to accept its rich comforting words, and incline our mind to meditate on them deeply to grasp the full implications of their counsel, and their richness as great treasures.
There is so much trouble in the world. Evil pervades everywhere and no one seems to be exempted from the experience. Everyone cries.
But we have hope. The Scriptures says, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Cor. 2:9 NKJV). He is “the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy” (1 Tim. 6:17 NKJV). There is even a greater assurance and certainty: “He who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him freely and graciously give us all [other] things?” (Rom. 8:32 AMP). He said, “… I am alert and active, watching over my word to perform it” (Jer. 1:12 AMP).
All that we need to do is to have faith, and have hope; trusting earnestly in His promises, for He would do for us that He has said He would do.
- Believe in the promises of God, be patient, and praise Him.
- Father, thank you for everything. Please wipe away all tears from our eyes.
