TEXT: HEBREWS 11:1-12
MEMORY VERSE: “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.”Hebrew 11:4 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
You may not understand the currency involved in the experiential knowledge and application of FAITH. Faith is not what you feel or what you simply believe because it was preached in the Church or some religious gathering. Faith has a belief system, but there is more to it.
However, before we talk about that, you know what currency is – the money, or other medium of exchange used in making transaction. Now, when you transact, you have achieved something tangible. And, by this understanding, when you have money you are sure you already have what you can use it to buy, even when you haven’t seen such thing – THIS IS FAITH. Now, the deeper sense of faith portrays JESUS CHRIST, who is the greatest currency that has purchased you and on the other hand, you can use His existence to have whatever you need without seeing those thing.
In verse 4, Abel used this currency of Faith to render more excellent sacrifice to God to obtain a witness of righteousness. Your faith in God Almighty, while focusing on the finished works of Jesus Christ, can automatically qualify you for things you’re not qualified for. Dear brethren, you don’t need to see what you’re praying for before you believe you have them. There is what is called the SPIRITUAL BANK; there, you already have all you need by faith, and by believing, you have them manifest in the physical – Mark 16:17-18.
Whatever you believe to have in prayer is already given to you because “… faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1).
May God grant you grace to learn the spiritual and experiential knowledge and application of this true faith; and all you ask, believing, shall be given to you, in Jesus Christ’s name.
- Who among the fathers and mothers of faith in the Bible is your source of inspiration to have absolute faith in God?
- Pray God to increase your faith in Him and in His word.
