ESOCS Devotional 21 June 2022
TEXT: EXODUS 15:22–27
MEMORY VERSE: “And said, if thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” Exodus 15: 26 KJV
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
Wisdom is gained from hearkening unto God’s voice. Blessings come as a result of obeying what you hear from God. Those who hearken will have no fear of bad news because they confidently trust the LORD to care for them. God told Noah He was going to destroy all living creatures with a flood because the earth had become corrupt. He further instructed Noah to build an Ark. Having never seen rain, Noah hearkened and obeyed. As a result, Noah and his family were saved. The children of Israel needed water to drink and when they could not find a good one, it resulted to murmuring against Moses. When Moses cried unto the Lord, God shewed him a tree, which he took and cast into the water and it became sweet.
When we listen diligently to the voice of God and do what His Word tells us to do, blessings will overtake us. God will give us practical instruction on how to prosper in every area of our lives if we will hearken to Him. The Holy Spirit inside us will teach us and empower us to do what He says.
Dear Beloved, God has a plan and purpose for your life. He is ready to do anything for you, provided you hearken to Him and believe Him. Jesus is our solid rock. He shall lift you up from the mess you are in and put you on solid rock. He brings you into a spacious place. He will expand you East, West, North and South. He says, “Behold I shall do a new thing” (Is. 43:19). He is doing something new in your life. Give it all to HIM. Release it in the Master’s hands. Release your business unto him. Bring your flesh under the subjection of the Holy Spirit, and in your life God will “make all things new” (Rev. 21:5).
- Examine yourself to know if you are diligently hearkening unto God’s voice.
- Lord, grant me grace to always hearken to your voice diligently and do your will.
