ESOCS Devotional 20 November 2024 – Life Across the Sea
MEMORY VERSE: ““And there shall be no more curse but the throne of God and of the lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall serve him.” Revelation 22:3
TEXT: REVELATION 22:1-7
And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.
6 Then he said to me, “These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place.
7 “Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”

Looking at the sea from one end, one may be tempted to conclude that there is nothing happening across it. But when you sail through and navigate the various water bodies, then you will discover so much life across the sea almost competing, if not doing better than the life on the land.
Without a doubt, when we complete our sojourn here on earth and our task in this world is accomplished, there is a better life across the sea. We are ushered into a place made of pure gold, which light is wonderfully supplied by God. Across that sea, curse does not exist at all; it is filled with God’s blessings in abundance.
Interestingly, only those who have lived correctly for God on earth can have access to a better life across that sea. It is not possible to live wrongly for the devil and want to access this good life in heaven. Anyone who lives in sin while existing on earth has invariably signed not to be qualified for a better life hereafter.
As we celebrate the life of the founder of The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase, who died on the 19th of October, 1933, we shall reflect on a few of his legacies.
Saint Moses Orimolade Tunolase was a celibate; he left for us the legacy of celibacy. It is clearly a record that has never been disputed anywhere in the world after 90 years of his death that he had no wife or any biological child. It means that he promoted sexual purity and a high moral lifestyle among the members. His life is a reflection of holiness and righteousness. It is therefore ironical to be associated with him in membership and be living in sexual immorality and other negative lifestyles that stain our purity and holiness. He was Evangelistic, Prophetic, prayerful, addicted to praising God always, service-oriented and lived a steadfast Christian life. His devotion to God was totally outstanding.
All who knew Orimolade could confirm that he loved unconditionally. His faith in God was absolute and he was a peaceful person. It is, therefore, a wak-eup call for us to emulate the legacies of our founder, as we celebrate his life on earth, 90 years after.
- Never become too satisfied with the earth; there is life after here.
- Only those who live for God on earth can live with God in heaven
- The legacies of our founder are outstanding, learn from them
- Father, thank you for providing us with a better life in eternity. Give us the grace to live correctly here on earth so that we can be with you forever in eternity, in Jesus name. Amen
