MEMORY VERSE: “And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man”. 1 Samuel 10:6
TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 10:1-10
Then Samuel took the vial of oil and poured it on Saul’s head and kissed him and said, Has not the Lord anointed you to be prince over His heritage Israel?
2 When you have left me today, you will meet two men by Rachel’s tomb in the territory of Benjamin at Zelzah, and they will say to you, The donkeys you sought are found. And your father has quit caring about them and is anxious for you, asking, What shall I do about my son?
3 Then you will go on from there and you will come to the oak of Tabor, and three men going up to God at Bethel will meet you there, one carrying three kids, another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a skin bottle of wine.
4 They will greet you and give you two loaves of bread, which you shall accept from their hand.
5 After that you will come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is; and when you come to the city, you will meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with harp, tambourine, flute, and lyre before them, prophesying.
6 Then the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you mightily, and you will show yourself to be a prophet with them; and you will be turned into another man.
7 When these signs meet you, do whatever you find to be done, for God is with you.
8 You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and behold, I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and to sacrifice peace offerings. You shall wait seven days until I come to you and show you what you shall do.
9 And when [Saul] had turned his back to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart, and all these signs came to pass that day.
10 When they came to the hill [Gibeah], behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily upon him, and he spoke under divine inspiration among them.

The presence of God is felt in different ways. When God intervenes in your affairs or chooses you for a task, it will certainly be glaring that God is in action.
For Saul, it started with his anointing by a great prophet of God. The man upon whom the Spirit of God dwells anointed Saul and made prophetic declarations of the future for him. Today, we live to testify that these words are true and that God is faithful to His words.
Have you encountered great men of God in your life experience? I mean such men that will speak about you in the name of God and you witness great and prompt manifestation of their declarations. I pray that God will send His messenger to you that will speak and it shall come to pass, in Jesus name.
Samuel was such a man. His words of prophecy never failed. He saw clearly and gave a proper description of events, gave exact time and place of events and they were so. He was a sample of what a prophet should be. May the Spirit of truth guide and use us, in Jesus name. Amen (1 Sam. 10:1-5).
The evidence of the presence of God is the Spirit of God. When the Spirit of God comes upon you, the things, words and wonders of the grace of God start to manifest through you (1 Sam. 10:6, 7).
In all that we do, we should be sure that we are powered by the Spirit of the Lord. He is the source of our power.
- Can you feel the presence of the Spirit of God in all that you do?
- Lord, may your spirit empower me to do all that I have to do in life, In Jesus Name. Amen.
