TEXT: ISAIAH 45:18-25
MEMORY VERSE: “Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:22
Right from the era of Moses and the Israelites of old, God’s Children have had unjustifiable cause to seek alternative god for their needs without recourse to the supremacy and sovereignty of God Almighty in whom alone lies salvation. These attempts have been counterproductive, and further proven that the Lordship of God cannot be mocked or equated with any other. God abhors idolatry, as He is a jealous and only true God.
It is worrisome and appalling to say the least, that some persons still derive pleasure in having communion with idols, even in this age. This could be likened to a case of misplaced priority taken too far. They are vain gods made by hands. But God Almighty is the Creator that was not created or made. He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient. There is none else like Him. In Him alone, there is salvation.

Scripture teaches that God deserves that all “knee shall bow and every tongue swear” (Isaiah 45:23). By implication, any attempt to turn to any ‘alternative’ to God Almighty attracts His fury and no man can stand His anger. Therefore, let mankind eschew all forms of idolatry, for there is no life or gain in it. No idol can save from sin; rather, serving idol is in its entirety sinful, and idolaters have their reward (of course, bitter reward).
Idol worshipping is still obtainable in some communities today under different covers. Some under the guise of annual festivals; others through certain abominable practices in the name of custom and tradition. All these are deviations and negations of what God commanded through Moses in Exodus 20:3-5. There is no substitute to God Almighty. Look unto Him alone, for in Him is your salvation, protection, healing, and every good thing guaranteed. Do not be deceived by any occultic or fetish vain assurances. There is no other than God Almighty!
