ESOCS Devotional 18 July
TEXT: ACTS 24:17-29
MEMORY VERSE: “After an absence of several years, I came to Jerusalem to bring my people gifts for the poor and to present offering.” Acts 24:17 NIV.
The memory verse alone revealed that after many years Apostle Paul went home with gifts to the poor and also to give thanks to God. This is a reminder that we should not forget our home.
Most of the brethren are worshipping God outside their home branch, home district and home province. And they do not care of how the branch is faring. Some have dilapidated buildings in their home, meanwhile their abroad members are big shots donating money in the place they worship outside their home.
Where some come back during their leave or festive periods they don’t even visit or worship in their home branches. However, if death calls them, the same home province, district or branch which they neglected will come to assist in their burial.

Can you imagine that a formal Provincial Chairman in the Holy Order and an Apostle General died neither the province nor their community know that they have had a man of such high position in the church? They only knew through a letter from the SAG/Sec to the Holy Order for the burial. It’s a pity.
Please let’s think twice and remember our home.
CHALLENGES
- Did you assist your home branch in any project?Have you used your exposure and connection to attract any project for them?
