ESOCS Devotional 17 November
TEXT: Job 22: 21-30 KJV
MEMORY VERSE: “Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace.” Job 22:21a KJV
Today’s text reminds us of the many benefits the children of God stand to gain when they acquaint themselves with God. One of which is that they will be at peace. Jesus tells us in John 14: 27 that He is leaving His peace with man, and that He gives His peace to man, not as the world gives. That means that there is peace of God and peace of the world. God kind of peace is without trouble and fear (John 14:27); and good shall come unto them also (Job. 22: 21). The only way to enjoy the peace of God is when you receive and lay God’s words in your heart (Job 22: 22). When you return to God, He shall build you up and He shall be your defence.
When you acquaint yourself with God, He will hear you when you pray to Him, bless you richly so much, so that you will be able to pay your vows; when you make decrees concerning yourself, home, family, business, it shall be established unto you and wherever you go, you will also shine as the light that you are. Even in the midst of lack, the children of God will always have in abundance because of God’s love upon them. His wish is that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
Finally, because they made the decision to acquaint themselves with God, He will save them (Job 22:29–30).
