TEXT: GENESIS 37:1-36
MEMORY VERSE: “Joseph had a dream and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all more.” Genesis 37:5 NIV
Joseph had dreams that he would lead their family. The dreams attracted hatred to him. Problems never paralyze great leaders because they know solutions exist. Joseph achieved much because he wasn’t paralyzed by hatred.
As a youth, he knew that God has something specially in mind for him. He established a good relationship with God; and the Bible says, “The Lord was with Joseph.” He developed a strong character through difficulties and grew stronger in his relationship with God.
There was a practical experience gained through life in prison, as he grew in ability and took charge of the prison. He did not complain of imprisonment but focused on His God despite the false accusation from Potiphar’s wife, which landed him in prison.
While passing through difficulties, he did not leave his gift. His ability to interpret dreams enabled him to make a difference in many lives, which paved way for his greatness. It was because the Lord was with him that “Whatever he did, God made it to prosper.”As Christians, we should continue the work of God no matter the hatred, the gang up, persecution, suppression, oppression or difficulties we are passing through in life.
