TEXT: EXODUS 15:13-21
MEMORY VERSE: “Faithful to your promise, you led the people you had rescued; by your strength you guided them to your sacred land” (Exodus 15:13).
God is faithful to His promises. Faithfulness is one of His greatest attributes. Moses and the children of Israel experience God’s faithfulness in their deliverance from Egypt, guardianship throughout their journeys to the Promised Land, and guidance into the land of Canaan. They praised Him profusely, and adored Him for His kindness, provision, and care.
It is a good thing to recount always, the goodness of God towards us. Many people concentrate on their suffering, losses, pains, and griefs without recounting God’s benevolence. This is absolutely wrong. As humans, we all have feelings. But we should not allow our negative feelings overcome us or override the need for us to appreciate and thank God in all situations: “At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father” (Eph 5:20 AMP).
God is faithful in all His ways; and He is faithful to His word and His will. He cannot lie; and He will never lie or renege on His word or promises. For this reason, we should have absolute faith, trust, and confidence in Him at all times and in all situations (Heb. 6:17-19). He will always care for us like the lilies in the field.
Let us take hold on His promises to deliver us, protect us, fight for us, elevate us, heal us, reorder our lives, and bless us in every way. He will guide us to our own spiritual Canaan, and we shall rejoice evermore. However, we need to remain His people. We should not change our identity to become people of the world (James 4:4, 7). We should remain the saints of God perpetually, “in all things showing [ourselves] to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of [us]” (Titus 2:7-8 NKJV).
- Remember God’s promises and anchor your hope on them.
- Lord, I will ever thank you for your faithfulness to me and my loved ones.
