ESOCS Devotional 12 August 2025 – Look Inwards
MEMORY VERSE: “And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.” Isaiah 63:5 KJV
TEXT: ISAIAH 63:1-6
Who is this who comes from Edom,
With dyed garments from Bozrah,
This One who is glorious in His apparel,
Traveling in the greatness of His strength?—
“I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2 Why is Your apparel red,
And Your garments like one who treads in the winepress?
3 “I have trodden the winepress alone,
And from the peoples no one was with Me.
For I have trodden them in My anger,
And trampled them in My fury;
Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments,
And I have stained all My robes.
4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart,
And the year of My redeemed has come.
5 I looked, but there was no one to help,
And I wondered
That there was no one to uphold;
Therefore My own arm brought salvation for Me;
And My own fury, it sustained Me.
6 I have trodden down the peoples in My anger,
Made them drunk in My fury,
And brought down their strength to the earth.”

Most times we tend to look outwards for solution when the slightest problem arises. We are either looking for parents, siblings, relatives, friends and even servants of God to help us out in the issues that confront us. We never see any need to look inwards for help. We neglect the potentials that can be generated from the inside. Yes! Many a time we do not believe in our inner strength and what we can do by ourselves and for ourselves.
We should imitate God whose arm brought salvation. There is something God has deposited in us that should propel us into action to enhance success, deliverance, prosperity, progress or advancement in several respects, for our own good and for the good of others. We possess the capacity and potentials to do these things and bring positive results.
Many of us we are right where we are because our eyes are focused outside for help. We have literally dialled all the numbers stored in our phones all in the name of solution seeking. We have visited several houses and offices looking for help. Let me trigger you that it is time to look inwards. There is something in you that you are not yet aware of it. There is a potential you carry that nobody has experienced before. Yes! You that are reading this right now, there is a special grace deposited inside of you that is yet untapped.
If only you can discover it, you will get the salvation you are looking for. If only you can see it and put it to use then help will be released. This is a call for a paradigm shift. Let us begin to look inwards for the help you need. The scripture says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13 KJV). Yes! You can, just look inwards.
CHALLENGES
- Believe in yourself, and with the help of God go and manifest.
- Study Scriptures to discover the potentials God has put in you.
- Prayerfully pull out all that God has deposited in you.
PRAYER POINT
Father, thank you for the grace and potentials you have put in me. Help me to discover and put them to use, in Jesus name. Amen.
