TEXT: JOHN 6:16-29
MEMORY VERSE: “When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus” (John 6:24 KJV).
As Christians, there is need for us to make certain definite decisions. We need to choose what we actually want: whether to seek Jesus, and the Kingdom of God or the things and pleasures of the world. The people made the right choice and went over to Capernaum to seek Him when they did not see Him on this other side.
The issue about life in eternity is a serious matter. We owe ourselves the duty to focus on those things that would help us spend eternity at the place where we would experience true peace and joy; and that is in the Kingdom of heaven. To get there, we have only one way, and that is through Jesus the Son of God. He said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me” (John 14:6 AMP).
Let us seek Him honestly, and earnestly too. There is no other choice, if we desire to escape the fire of hell. If we seek Him with a pure heart, we would find Him. If we fail or refuse to seek Him, we will lose.
Let us seek Him in His word, and through practising it. He would come and live in us, in our heart. His lifestyle and attitude would reflect in our character, and our dispositions; in our way of life; in the kind of career or business we engage; in the manner we relate with our spouse in the home; in the way we treat our employees, neighbours, friends, colleagues, and others; and in the way we work for Him in the Church. When we seek Him and find Him, it would be well with us. Meditate on these things.
- Set your heart to seek the Lord only though all your life
- Lord, let the Holy Spirit work in my heart to seek you always.
