MEMORY VERSE: “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 KJV
TEXT: MATTHEW 1:18-24
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. 20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

According to the Miriam-Webster dictionary, “wisdom is the ability to discern inner qualities and relationships, have good judgment, The birth of Jesus was for a divine purpose and to fulfil prophecy. He was born as God’s eternal plan for man. His birth shows Him to be both true deity and fully man.
The mystery of all mysteries took place at the virgin conception of Christ and His birth at Bethlehem, when divinity and humanity united into the person of Christ Jesus our Lord. He came to bring salvation from sin, as promised in Old Testament Scriptures.
The need for salvation came about after man lost his very essence of existence in the Garden of Eden through disobedience. The glory of God that was lost in man was supposed to carry man throughout his entire life. But the devil who is the enemy never wanted this for man; hence, the deceit of man to eat the forbidden fruit, which brought man to the point of filthiness. God being a loving father did not desire that man should remain at this state of dirty and unrighteous nature. Therefore, he devised another means to reconcile man to Himself to further bring to fulfilment, His eternal plan for man.
Our Salvation was accomplished through the death of Jesus who redeemed us from our sins and transferred us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His glorious light. It embraces the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit who sanctifies us and conforms us into the image of Jesus. It covers the Spirit’s enabling power to overcome the world, the flesh and spiritual wickedness in high places, which are the wiles of the enemy against the Lord Most High. It guides us in the darkness and is a defense in danger. It sustains the fainting heart and overcomes the power of death. It bestows eternal life and exalts us to sit in heavenly places. It lifts us up out of the miry clay and sets our feet forever on Jesus, who is the Rock of our Salvation.
The salvation of man is established at the point of belief and acceptance of our Lord Jesus, as our Lord and personal Saviour, and the willingness to repent from our sins, making commitments to live a righteous life that will unite us with the Father when our days on earth are over.
